Child knocked off feet by MONKEY riding mini-motorbike down the street

A monkey riding a mini-motorcycle along the street crashed into a child, sending him flying and hitting the floor.
The clip, filmed in East Java, Indonesia, shows the monkey hurtling down a hill on the small bike while attached to a rope.

As the monkey flies down the narrow street, the bike begins to wobble causing the animal to bail out.
But when the monkey jumps off, the miniscule bike flies in the other and into the legs of a young boy who is standing and watching.
The bike takes the boy’s feet from underneath him, causing him to slam into the pavement in a nasty-looking fall.
However, the boy jumps right back up and the monkey walks over to retrieve the helmet he was wearing.
The bizarre clip was posted online yesterday and has racked up over half a million views on Instagram.

The incident was part of a traditional street performance known as Topeng Monyet, translated as Monkey’s Mask.
It’s a controversial form of entertainment that sees a captive macaque forced to dress as human and perform stunts such as riding bicycles.
They’re chained by their neck and videos online show them being yanked cruelly whilst performing for the public.
Topeng Monyet was banned in Indonesia’s capital city Jakarta after a campaign in 2013.
Many of the animals were unable to return to the forests that they were taken from because of severe physical and mental trauma.
However, the practice continues throughout Indonesia.
