FRSC officials rescue pregnant woman from kidnappers




  • Victim goes into labour, delivers baby boy
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) yesterday rescued a pregnant woman from her adductors. The Corps Commander, Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, said in a statement that the woman was rescued about 7:30a.m. by a team of Badagry unit of the corps. He said: “About 0730 hours this morning of Sunday 25th February, 2018, a team of Badagry Unit of FRSC led by Assistant Route Commander P. Danboyi accosted a vehicle with registration number KTU 356 CE at AP filling station before Aradagun Bus Stop in Badagry, Lagos.
In the vehicle were two suspected kidnappers (male) and a pregnant woman who was their victim.” Kazeem added that the pregnant woman, who sustained body injuries while struggling with her abductors, was taken to Ola-Oki Hospital, Ibereko where she was delivered of a baby boy.
“The two kidnappers were about being burnt by irate mob when some soldiers arrived the scene and arrested them and handed them over to the police in Badagry.” Speaking on the development, Corps Marshal of FRSC, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, who commended the act of gallantry and bravery displayed by the officers before they could rescue the pregnant woman, assured members of the public that his officials were not only on the road to see to free flow of traffic and safety but also to ensure security of road users by cooperating with other law enforcement agencies to shield them from marauders and bandits.
