Buhari lauds Dangote, private sectors’ role on economy




President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday lauded the critical role being played by Dangote Group and other key private firms in a bid to rejig the country’s economy positively. Particularly, the President emphasised that the organised private sector had shown that they were critical to the country’s economic development, adding that this was in tandem with his administration’s plan for economic recovery and growth.
Buhari, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the 39th edition of the Kaduna International Trade Fair, where he was represented by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelama, said the key to modern economic growth and development was in the hands of private sector operators and that government was desirous of providing enabling environment for investments to thrive.
According to him, the critical role being played by Dangote Group and other private sector operators in creating jobs for our teeming youths cannot be overemphasised in the economy. The president explained that government was partnering the private sector in its industrialisation drive.
